Pat is no stranger to Bethel Presbyterian Church. Pat and her husband Jerry have lived in Kingston for five years and consider Bethel Church “home”. She served Bethel Church as Parish Associate before her call to Second Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. She now considers it a privilege to come alongside Marc Sherrod and Bethel Presbyterian Church (as Stated Supply Pastor) during Marc’s illness.
Jerry and Pat were high school sweethearts and attended Costa Mesa High School in Costa Mesa, California. They have three grown children (Todd, Darla and Brent) and two “beautiful” grandchildren, Ethan and Gracean (their daddy, Charlie Scoma, is in his last year at Princeton Seminary).
Jerry was in the Navy for twenty-six years…and their family moved many times throughout his career. Pat graduated from Leslie College in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a B.S. in Counseling and Human Services. She also graduated from San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California with a Master of Divinity degree and completed a year long training of Clinical Pastoral Education at Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco.
Pat has served churches in California, Washington and Tennessee. Hobbies include: gardening, photography, traveling and painting. Jerry, Pat, their parrot “Amazing Grace” and new Schnauzer puppy hope to retire in Kingston, Tennessee a place that has been a blessing to them because of Bethel Church!
