Bethel provides both volunteers and financial support to this ministry.
Through the Roane County Cooperative Ministries (RCCM), Bethel and 14 other local churches cooperate to provide limited emergency grants to residents of Kingston, Harriman, and Oakdale for rent, utilities, and ocasionally medicine and garden seed and fertilizer. Rockwood residents should contact the Rockwood Ministerial Association at 354-1674.
Currently, Bethel provides volunteers who work on a monthly basis as well as funding for this ministry. New volunteers receive in-office training by current volunteers who are familiar with RCCM procedures. Client applications for assistance are filled out, and if the qualification requirements are met, each client receives a voucher (usually for a maximum of $50) written to the appropriate agengy (e.g., landlord, utility company, etc.).
